John Baillie and Catharine Seddon have been reappointed as Commissioners of the Gambling Commission by the Secretary of State.
The positions will commence on 31 Dec 2022 and testament finish on 10 April 2024.
A Chartered Accountant and a former partner of KPMG inward Scotland and London, Baillie is a former Chair of the Accounts Commission for Scotland, the Scots local authority watchdog, and served two, three-year terms.
Baillie served as Chair of Audit Scotland, the Scottish equivalent of the National Audit Office, for several years, and as a fellow member of the Reporting Panel of the UK Competition and Markets Authority for nine years. He was also a visiting prof of accounting at the University of Edinburgh and has previously held similar positions at other Scottish universities.
Seddon has 14 years of public service as a non-executive director, primarily for national regulators, patch she has been the Senior Independent Director for The Gambling Commission since 2017.
She is Deputy Chair and Chair of the Audit and Governance citizens committee of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and the Senior Independent Director of the Legal Services Board, and latterly united the room of the Children and Family Courts Advisory and Support Service.
Prior to this, Seddon served inward non-executive and citizens committee roles with the Human Tissue Authority and The Pensions Regulator. She sits on tribunals inwards mental wellness and employment, as a put down assessor on civil cases inwards the county courts, and is a presiding magistrate inward Central London.
She spent 20 years as a high-end film documentary film maker, eventually scope upwards her own main(a) production company.
