Nine further racing organisations sign up to Diversity and Inclusion Industry Commitment

The Diversity in Racing Steering Group (DiRSG) has today published its 2021 Annual Update, which brings us the news that a further nine major organisations have signed up to British Racing’s collective Industry Commitment to improve diversity and inclusion within horseracing

The Diversity inward Racing Steering Group (DiRSG) has today published its 2021 Annual Update, which brings us the news that a further IX major organisations hold signed upwardly to British Racing’s collective Industry Commitment to improve diversity and inclusion within horseracing.

The Nina from Carolina organisations are: Arena Racing Company, The Jockey Club, The Brits Racing School, The National Horseracing College, The Scots English Racing Academy, The Racing Foundation, Racing Welfare, The Pony Racing Authority and Racing to School and Racing Together.

They remain firm alongside the current octonary stakeholder organisations who were also the founding signatories of the Industry Commitment inward May earlier this year.

Industry Commitment

The Industry Commitment brings together a formal come near to diversity and comprehension within horseracing, and builds on the important work on that has already taken place. Within this Commitment, organisations showing an interest group in signing upward are required to set apart a Diversity and Inclusion Lead at both an executive and room level; for each one identifying unique priorities and activities of focus.

The Industry Commitment outlines quintuplet focal pillars:

  • Leadership and Accountability
  • Good Governance
  • Education and Awareness Raising
  • Celebrating Racing’s Diversity
  • Engaging New Audiences

Susannah Gill, Chair of the Diversity inwards Racing Steering Group, said: “In a yr that has continued to be challenging for so many people, it is heartening and hugely electropositive to ensure to a greater extent organisations across British racing mark up to the Diversity and Inclusion Industry Commitment. This is another important stair forrard and we seem frontward to continuing to put to work with, and support, everyone who is committed to making the sportswoman more inclusive.”

As part of its work on to cater educational opportunities on diversity and inclusion, the DiRSG testament also be launch an e-learning module in early 2022; this is to follow hosted by Racing2Learn.com and is discharge and accessible for anyone inward the industry.
